Jennifer teaches yoga at Meditate, but also created the studio’s daytime yoga program that she launched on June 21st, 2014. Jennifer’s career path has always been driven by her passion to teach, serve, and heal others. After receiving a B.A. in Sociology and Interpersonal and Organizational Communication Studies, as well as a M.A. in Communication Studies, she went on to receive her yoga teaching certification to further pursue her heart’s desire to lead a more holistic lifestyle and encourage others to utilize yogic postures and principles for mindfulness and self-empowerment.

Born and raised a California girl, Jennifer fully endorses Gandhi’s idea that we should “be the change we wish to see in the world.” From the age of 3, she has been tumbling, twisting, dancing, and competing in gymnastics. She discovered yoga in college when she was searching for a way to stay active, healthy, and balanced while juggling school, work, and several extracurricular activities. As a major advocate for health, wellness, and holistic living, Jennifer fell head over heels in love with yoga and realized she had been living a yogic lifestyle from a very young age.

During her career, Jennifer has taught Interpersonal Communication, Public Speaking, and Small Group Discussion. She has also spent a great deal of time studying and earning certifications that have strengthened her Conflict Mediation and Diversity Training skills. After 2 years of teaching college level classes, she decided to take her journey to the next level by studying and training with Cloud Nine Yoga School and Studio in Long Beach, CA, where she earned her 200 RYT Hatha Yoga Certification. Additionally, Jennifer has enjoyed working with children from a very young age, which has led to her teaching, tutoring, mentoring, and teaching yoga to K-8 grade students.

Her yoga offerings are continually expanding and not only can you catch her in the studio and gym, you can also join her for Beach Yoga every Saturday at Belmont and Lake Shore and Rooftop Yoga Thursday evenings at the New York Building. Additionally, she enjoys volunteering with the Chicago Kids Yoga Festival.

Jennifer holds an attitude of gratitude for yoga, as it has enhanced her spiritual life, self-awareness, and mindfulness, along with allowing her to share her love for yoga, healing, and helping others. Jennifer dreams of studying at an Ashram in India, furthering her yoga education, teaching yoga all over the world, and empowering others through the practice of yoga.

Jennifer also teaches Beach Yoga and Rooftop Yoga Classes in Chicago
